What are the Opportunities for Mobilizing the Filipino Diaspora in Italy? Lessons from the MAPID Project

This essay constitutes the final report of a three-year research and training project carried out in Italy with the members of the Filipino Diaspora and their associations. After recounting the history of Filipino immigration in Italy, it presents a synthesis of the results of an original study conducted in Rome and Milan, devoting a special attention to Filipino migrants transnational identities and practices and to their associational life. Then it stresses the lessons learned from the training program implemented thank to the project and develop some recommendations addressed to the various stakeholders.
