There is a recurring, dangerous, and erroneous equivalence between the phenomenal reality of emergencies and the idea of a justified exception to the rule of law. Such equivalence, when critically regarded from a 'Law & Literature' perspective, reveals its intrinsic dangerousness - even more so, as 'narratives of emergency' possess the ability to get ingrained in our lives and in our beliefs. A 'virus' which, to be successfully eradicated, requires robust civic 'antibodies', to be developed well beyond and independently of the current pandemic crisis.
