The Inferentialist Approach to Legal Reasoning: Benefits and Limits
Abstract. This paper focuses on the first two chapters of Damiano Canale’s book En
busca de lo implícito. These chapters examine legal reasoning and interpretation in law through the lenses of semantic inferentialism. The aim of this paper is to highlight, albeit briefly, the elements of usefulness and certain limitations of semantic inferentialism as
applied to legal interpretation and legal reasoning.
