Abstract
Many fragments of clay moulds, found in a dump along the town walls of Augusta Taurinorum, attest that casting workshops used to be operating in the Roman city, and that they were qualified in manufactoring honorary statues. Moreover, fragments of bronze statuary were often discovered in the colony as well as in the close cities: bronze casting seems to be a common activity in this area, which is rich in metals and well connected to the famous mines of Gallia.
