Abstract
The essay, through an accurate survey of the critical literature, presents the most recent scientific acquisitions regarding the construction and transformations of the female monastery of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia in Brescia. In particular, the analysis of the architectural and museographic transformations of the monastic complex offer a series of important suggestions for the understanding of its structural development over the centuries: from its foundation in the 8th century to the 20th century.
