Abstract
The essay examines the legal condition of Turkey’s religious minorities, by focusing on the issue of Church property expropriation and restitution from the foundation of the 'new Turkey' till the recent developments. Improvements, albeit still insufficient, have been favoured both by Turkey's new legislation and by the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, which has consistently restored religious minorities' breached rights.
