Abstract
The transparency principle modulates controllers’
activities from the very early phase
of the design of processing technologies, to
the later stage of the evaluation of the consequences
arising from the same processing
operations. The transparency principle governs
technologies’ design ex ante in respect of
processing activities, and supports the identification
of controllers’ liabilities in ex post in
respect of the processing activities that have
been carried out
