Abstract
The commitment to sustainable development, in reference to the most important international documents, implies a privileged attention to the younger generation, children in particular. Taking children as "indicators" of sustainability, the contributionanalyze today's architectural structure and identifies the democratic forms of participation in a way through which to promote a renewed idea of quality of life. Specifically, the author explores the relational processes underlying the participatory planning, understood as a particularly effective practice to create a new ethics way for planning, based on shared responsibility and participation of all citizens (and therefore children) on decision-making.
