Abstract
The issue explores the issue of strategic positioning and how it is related to decisions regarding suppliers. By using longitudinal case studies of two Italian leading companies acting in the wood-working machinery industry the paper focuses on decisions regarding in-sourcing and out-sourcing strategies and policies in suppliers over time.
