Abstract
This work aims at presenting the potentialities of the Professional Life Space drawing (PLS) carrying out research on professional identity (Sveningsson & Alvesson, 2003).
The PLS, an adaptation of the individual version of the Family Life Space (FLS) (Gozzoli, Tamanza, 2008), is a graphic-symbolic tool which catches the representation made by a single professional on his/her professional world and his/her professional relevant network.
The study presented refers to a group of 15 police officers of an Italian Prison. By applying the tool on a specific group of professional who are experiencing difficult professional conditions (stress, overload of job) this work wants to point out the potentialities of the tool in activating reflexivity and sense-making about professional identities.
