Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the proposal put forward by populares like Ser.Suplicius Rufus and ‘Sallust’ (the Epistula II ad Caesarem) for abolishing the praerogativa centuria in the Centuriate Assemblies, which met Cicero’s strong opposition, and the different solution conceived by Julius Caesar, that is the personal commendatio of the dictator.
