Abstract

In recent decades, creative and cultural organizations such as art galleries, art fairs, museums and festivals have undergone a drastic change in their identity, their relationship with stakeholders and their ways of working (e.g. their increasing use of digital and online services) (Walmsley & Franks, 2011). This multidimensional change has also affected how the physical space of these organizations is designed and used (e.g. Velthuis 2003; Bjerregaard 2015; Black 2005).
