Abstract

The study intends to analyze the documents of Magyar relevance of the Paduan library of the scholar Gian Vincenzo Pinelli (1535-1601), which was purchased by Cardinal Federico Borromeo for the Ambrosiana Library of Milan in 1609. After a general presentation of the collection and of its adventurous fate, the study focuses on two factitious codices, marked BAMi G 276 inf. and BAMi D 489 inf., which contain respectively 31 and 12 dispatches concerning the Magyar events of 1566 (from February to December) and 1569 (from January to October).
