Abstract
The Global Gateway (GG) has been presented as the EU flagship foreign policy initiative\r\nto fill the global investment gap, with a regional focus on LAC. The GG serves as an\r\neconomic investment tool, also offering geopolitical value. Although GG is still in the\r\nimplementation phase, it has been criticized for promising too much and delivering too little.\r\nWe run a mid-term review of the GG during its implementation phase through a qualitative\r\nand quantitative. We find that the private sector is experiencing difficulties or showing not\r\nas much interest in GG projects as hoped. To succeed, the GG toward LAC needs more\r\npolitical will, financial resources and attention to key sectors (in particular, the digital). The\r\nEU Delegations are not functioning as they should
