Abstract
In traditional theism, God is often said to be both omniscient and timeless.
Prior’s insight on the impossibility for a timeless entity to know the
truth of temporal propositions has given rise to an interesting debate concerning
the consistency of instantiating these attributes. In the present
paper we intend to clarify the current debate by proposing different logical
frameworks which allow us to adequately characterize the main intuitions
on this issue and by showing that the possibility of an atemporal
omniscient agent strongly depends on the metaphysical assumptions we
are willing to adopt.
