Sulla genesi delle Geistliche Oden über einige Sonn- und Festtage des sogenannten Christlichen Jahres des Herrn de Sacy di Johann Christian Günther

With his Geistliche Oden uber einige Sonn- und Festtage des sogenannten Christlichen Jahres des Herrn de Sacy verfertiget, a cycle of nineteen poems published at the beginning of the 18th century, Johann Christian Günther offered his tribute to the genre of Perikopenlyrik. So far very little scholarly attention has been devoted to these poems and the few existing critiques often contain ambiguous or incomplete information about the context in which these religious odes were composed. The aim of the present paper is therefore to offer a careful reconstrucion of these poems’ genesis and a general view of the structure of the cycle.
