Abstract
To console people from their misfortunes, the Basran judge and writer al-Tanukhi collects a series of short narratives populated by the most diverse characters. In line with his Mu'talizi beliefs, al-Tanukhi's happy-ending stories all convey the same message: God does not forsake His servants who put their trust in Him.
