Abstract

The " Arab Spring " have adjusted a previously inherited perception that the Arab peoples lived consciously in immobility, an inability to change any aspect inherent their political , social or economic life. The paradigmatic desire for renewal, coincided with the Usa Presidency of the slogan "we change" that Obama had made a flag, has sharpened the focus on the problematic nature of this region, whose history has been marked in the past, as in recent decades, of important political and cultural "revolutions".\r\nThis book not only explores the fourteen centuries of history of the Arab peoples, identifying the significant events that have seen them protagonists, from the phase of Muhammad's prophetic golden era to the twelfth centuries, the advent of the Ottoman dynasty, the European colonial phase and self-determination of peoples in the '50s and '60s, but also addresses current events of the "revolutions " and " post- revolution " still in progress. In contrast to the immobility mentioned above, this book reveals a complex historical, political and religious history and clarifies pursuing an interdisciplinary goal, considering the close relationship between the Arab world and the Islamic religion, but also between Orientalism and colonialism , nationalism and political Islam .
