Abstract
This paper synthesizes the findings of a research process involving practitioners, family members, and persons with disabilities (PwD), highlighting participation as the guiding principle of Anffas services. A triangular approach—practitioners, PwD, and families—emerges as a best practice in social work with PwD, supported by integrated methodologies and shared tools for individualized planning. PwD are positioned as active agents in decision-making, while practitioners are widely valued for competence, responsiveness, and relational stability. Families, though variably involved, receive both support and guidance but also report emotional strain and differentiated needs regarding participation. Remaining challenges concern community inclusion, the development of external social networks, and the interpretation of rights within complex life conditions. Overall, the study outlines a model centered on personalization, relational care, and the strengthening of formal and informal support networks.
