Abstract
Liturgical manuscripts with musical notation (i.e. Gregorian Chant manuscripts) are reliable witnesses of the real pronunciation of Latin in the 9th and 10th centuries. In some cases they agree with the information offered by Latin grammarians of the Late Antiquity, against the standard theories featured by most textbooks.
