Scuola e guerra a Milano (1914-1918)

Based on a wide range of coeval documents, this research focuses on the involvement of Milanese primary\r\nschool in the First World War. Milan was particularly interested in the war because it was one of the most\r\nrelevant Italian cities and the biggest industrial center near the frontline. The essay portrays the situation of\r\nprimary schools in that period, underlining organizational issues caused mainly by the requisition of school\r\nbuildings and by the departure of teachers for the frontline. It also describes the helpful activities and the\r\npatriotic initiatives set up by the school teachers during the war.
