Abstract
Training ecosystem, education ecosystem and knowledge ecosystem are three ways of looking at knowledge, education and learning. Here we look at those concepts from a point of view inevitably transformed by the ongoing pandemy. As in any metaphor, the three notions put forth a limited number of aspects of physical-biological ecosystems. Features such as common fate, physical permeation, flowing equilibrium and catastrophic change are somehow left in the background, despite some of them being in fact essential in speaking about education. By accelerating some tendencies that were already in place in education and training, the pandemy might have further ditched those fundamental features of education. By reconnecting the concept of ecosystem with the notions of community and common fate, we foresee some challenges that will be crucial for future education.
