Abstract
The article provides a synthesis of the birthday celebration which took place in Bologna on the occasion of the hundredth birthday of Professor Maria Matilde Principi, and briefly summarizes the academic career and the didactic and scientific activity carried out by her, with particular reference to studies on Neuroptera.
