The paper is a synthesis of the introductory relationships to the 2006 Conference of the Italian Marketing Association devoted to study marketing strategies of Italian mid-sized manufacturing companies. The paper debates main organizational and marketing competences and processes of Italian midsized companies supporting companies' growing positioning in the international markets.
