Proceedings of the Finnish-Italian Workshop on Information Systems

The Joint Finnish-Italian Workshop on Information Systems (FIWIS) was held on Sunday 13th June \r\n2004, prior to ECIS2004 in Turku, Finland. \r\nThis workshop was originally intended to attract young Finnish and Italian researchers and is designed \r\nto be a side event to ECIS2004. The organisers later extended the scope of the workshop so that also \r\nparticipants from Sweden were possible \r\nHence, FIWIS 2004 is the first major initiative to strengthen the ties between the Scandinavian and \r\nItalian IS/IT communities and is addressed especially to PhD students at their first or second year. \r\nThe workshop offered an opportunity for all those young Finnish and Italian researchers interested in \r\nIS to meet in a specialized venue to discuss research activities, findings and exchange experiences. \r\nFinnish and Italian PhD students were encouraged to submit: \r\n• a research proposal \r\n• a literature review \r\n• a research in progress paper \r\n• a full research paper \r\nMain interest areas of workshop: \r\n• IT innovations \r\n• Knowledge Management \r\n• IS development \r\n• Outsourcing \r\n• Research methods and methodologies \r\nAll reports were refereed by reviewers with expertise in the area and the accepted and presented ones \r\nwere included in the FIWIS Workshop Proceedings.
