Prime considerazioni sull’evoluzione economica e sociale di una confraternita nel Piemonte d’Antico Regime. La Congregazione di S. Giuseppe di Novara tra dominazione spagnola e Regno di Sardegna

This paper wants to present the first results of a research on the Compagnia di S. Giuseppe of Novara during the Ancien régime. Starting from the analyse of the social context, this studies aims to focus on its activity, in particular: care, charity credit and management of its heritage, most of it composed by lands. The aims of this research is to give a picture of the social and economical role of the brotherhood during the modern era in Novara and Novarese.
