Pre-surgical chemotherapy in medulloblastoma/PNET of childhood

Here we briefly review from the literature the published cases of pre-surgical chemotherapy in medulloblastoma (MB)/PNET of childhood. We concluded that pre-surgical chemotherapy may be indicated for the following major reasons: 1) easier removal of the tumor; 2) early treatment of micrometastases; 3) all patients would be evaluable for sensitivity of the tumor to chemotherapy at diagnosis.
