Politiche pubbliche a livello locale e ruolo del volontariato (Primo rapporto sulle migrazioni)

Within the yearly Italian Report on Migrations (1995’s edition) realised by the ISMU Foundation – the main Italian scientific institution on migrations and interethnic cohabitation – this chapter focuses the attention on local societies reaction to the arrival of immigrants in their territory. Then it offers a description of policies in the fields of housing, work, and health. A special attention is devoted to the role of voluntary and no-profit organisations. In the concluding considerations, policies for migrants are presented as a sort of mirror of local societies’ weakness and strength, of their identity and capacity of inclusion.
