Philipp Lotmar is celebrated as the father of labour law in the\r\ntwentieth century Germany. But he first was a Roman law scholar and\r\nalso engaged himself in the general field of law and justice. The\r\npresent essay is particularly dedicated to this less known aspect of\r\nhis personality, on the occasion of a recent Italian translation of a\r\nseries of his writings.
