Abstract
The chapter describes in detail and with concrete examples steps and methodological indications for the implementation of foster care placements with the participation of children, birth families and foster families. According to Relational Social Work method, the author illustrates the stages necessary to plan family foster care: the construction of the project with the birth family, mutual knowledge between the foster family and the birth family, the involvement of the fostered children , the monitoring and support of the ongoing foster care placement, up to the desired family reunification.
