Abstract
The importance of board games as cultural artifacts capable of embodying social practices and\r\nconvey complex messages is recognized in the academic field. However, the interaction between\r\nboard games and Italian television remains poorly explored, resulting in significant gaps in historical\r\nreconstructions. This study re-evaluates the relationship between board games and Italian televi-\r\nsion, analyzing the period spanning from the advent of TV in Italy to the crisis of the Rai monopoly\r\nand highlighing how the board games of the era responded to the entertainment and media literacy\r\nneeds of the television audience, while promoting the transition from passive spectators to active\r\nparticipants and fostering shared playful experiences.
