Abstract
Giuseppe Martini (1870-1944) was an important Italian bookseller, active in the world of the ancient book between Lucca, New York and Lugano. After a long period of oblivion, thanks to the sale of his index cards (which was part of the bibliographic collection of Carlo Alberto Chiesa), his name is back in the limelight. A group of scholars has put together a volume of studies that illuminates its activity. It is both a matter of opening a window on the many companies in which Martini was involved, but also of relaunching the studies on the history of Italian and international antiquarian book trade.
