Abstract
Patient’s needs are a very important issue within psychotherapy and can lead to a specific therapeutic strategy. This concept can guide the therapist in the definition of the specific therapeutic strategy suitable for “this patient, with these characteristics, this problem and this period of his/her life”. Some psychotherapeutic approaches are at risk when they underestimate this, emphasizing their own techniques or theoretical framework. Prof. Zapparoli proposed a brief, focal and integrated psychotherapeutic approach that is founded on patient’s needs and is summarized in this article.
