Abstract
One century after his birth, the work of Italo Calvino remains a cornerstone of contemporary literature, especially for its capacity to raise key issues regarding the development of humankind and culture. This Editorial outlines an attempt to understand the phenomenological educational gaze in the light of his novel "Palomar" (1983).
