Abstract

South Ossetia represents one of those so called "de facto state" or "quasi state" that are functional to the Kremlin's security and geopolitical architecture in the region. The articles analyzes the current geopolitical situation of the small republic, and the aftermath of the conflict of 2008 against bordering Georgia.
