Abstract

The project aims to trace the semantic of the most commonly used words referred to food, be-side ‘food’ and ‘nourishment’, through a prevailing etymological analysis, in order to highlight the differences that got lost in their current use.The second part of the article focuses on the concept of ‘feast’, convivium, a way to spend life together, upon which the Western idea of civilization is based.
