On "Common Good": Between Tradition and Contemporary Social Contexts

Risultato della ricerca: Contributo in rivistaArticolo in rivistapeer review

Abstract

The essay addresses the philosophical-legal question of "common good". Starting from some classical perspectives (i. e. Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas), the difference between the ancient-medieval horizon and the contemporary social contexts becomes clear and, consequently, the deep transformation of the category of "common good" emerges. Nevertheless the tradition concerning "common good" could be rethought in other directions and, especially, in a political-legal-social perspective in order to elaborate a new concept of "unity", "institution" and "relation".
