Note ai margini dei rapporti tra detenzione femminile e pregressa vittimizzazione

This paper aims to analyse the correlation, which emerged in international research, between female detained offenders and previous experiences of victimization, which contributed to their criminal choice. This observation gives a further specificity to female detention, already characterized by innumerable criticalities, among all the difficult balance with the parental role interrupted by the prison experience. However, it is noted that, especially in Italy, there is a lack of all-round investigations into the experiences of female detainees which would allow for a better understanding of the reasons underlying criminal choices and to make more effective preventive approaches.
