A reconstruction of some passages of the very complicated creative process that led from Giovannino Guareschi's tales to the film 'Don Camillo' shot by Julien Duvivier and an explanation of the production logic that governed its realisation, with an assessment of the outcome of this process and the legacy of a film that, decades later, shows no sign of diminishing in popularity.
