Abstract

Becoming parents is a moment of change and transformation, a real\r\n“silent revolution”. The wait triggers a fruitul and generative process thereby future parents create a physical, psychic and emotional space for the baby to be\r\nwelcomed. In this view, the wait itself turns out to be a space for a new life to\r\nbe received. Pedagogy ascribes great value to all those narrative practices that\r\nsupport memory-making throughout the path that leads to the birth of a baby\r\nand, at the same time, to the birth of a father and a mother. The narratives so\r\nproduced enable a family history whose organizational reference is birth, i.e.,\r\na temporal element therefrom a web of stories is weaved, around practices and\r\nrituals that are rich of implicit meanings.
