Molto meglio di quella di Aristotele: filosofia e teologia in Descartes e Desgabets

Risultato della ricerca: Contributo in rivistaArticolo

Abstract

The relationship between philosophy and theology in Descartes’ thought is complex, sometimes elusive and evolving over time. Two different approaches emerge from his writings: on the one hand, he distinguishes and separates the two disciplines; on the other, he does not hesitate to express his opinion on theological issues. It is therefore particularly interesting to examine what happens among those who refer to his thoughts after his death and wish to develop them further. The case study examined is that of the Benedictine Dom Robert Desgabets, who continues where Descartes did not arrive but, at least in Desgabets’ opinion, hoped to arrive.
