Abstract
Scientists tell us that good memories are learned, and are not an innate gift. In general, we memorize when we pay attention, when we are involved, engaged and entertained, when we transform information in something that makes sense for us. Memorization helps understanding and, in turn, understanding helps memorization. Mnemonics is a set of rather simple tricks that force a depth of processing that normally learners do not engage in.
