Abstract
Al-Makīn Jirjis Ibn al-ʿAmīd, a major thirteenth-century Coptic historian, is the author of a universal chronography from Adam to AD 1260 (AH 658) that was widely read by later Muslim historians. This entry completely rewrites the information on Ibn al-ʿAmīd and his work, based on the critical edition that I am gradually publishing.
