This volume, published as the second issue of the History of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, offers essential bibliographic and archival instruments to the intellectual community in order to put forth a serious and well-documented historical reconstruction of the institution’s affairs. In fact, the volume presents a systematic view of the sources found in the University’s different campuses and the archives of organizations and institutions with which it has had relevant exchanges. Such collections include the Secret Vatican Archive, the Historical Diocesan Archive of Milan, the Archive of the Italian Episcopal Conference and the Archive of the Institute for the History of the Catholic Action in Italy. The ample review of this material, of which this volume is the result, was undertaken by a group of researchers coordinated by Maria Bocci. Each archival source has been catalogued by the coordinator herself, to the benefit of whoever wishes to reconstruct the history of the Catholic University. A technical note specifies the criteria with which the research was carried out.
