Abstract

The study aims to highlight musical activities in the main churches in Mantua (the Cathedral, the Palatine basilica of Santa Barbara, Sant’Andrea, and the major monasteries) while also establishing Gatti’s role within this context. Thus, this is not simply an in-depth investigation into his presence in Santa Barbara, but also his contributions to the other ecclesiastical institutions, to obtain a more complete picture of his formation and artistic development
