Abstract
In the 4th disputed question on esse intelligibile, William Alnwick carries on the criticism already put forward by Duns Scotus to the doctrine of the divine ideas of Henry of Ghent. The English Franciscan is commetted to erasing the original character of exemplary cause the Flemish Master attributed to the notion of idea and exemplar, relegating this causality to the subsequent moment of divine insight (and volition). The aim of my paper is to examine this important question
