L’italiano per gli studenti internazionali nei percorsi di alta formazione

This paper examines the teaching of Italian as a second language (L2) to international students enrolled on higher education degree programmes. Having analysed the profile of these learners and their learning context, our aim is to provide methodological and practical insights based on the teaching experience of the University Language Centre (SeLd’A) at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. First, we outline the L2 Italian training offered by SeLd’A to international students, highlighting the stages involved in planning, structuring, and implementing teaching activities. Next, we present the results of an empirical survey, which was conducted through a questionnaire administered to students, as well as through interviews with course lecturers. The survey aimed to identify the learners' specific learning needs.
