Abstract
This research explores the teaching of Italian as a second language (L2) within\r\na university context at the Università Cattolica “Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio”\r\nin Tirana (UCNSBC), which represents a unique model of higher education in Italian\r\nlanguage outside Italy. The university, indeed, offers courses entirely taught in Italian,\r\nwhich serves as the official language of instruction. The study investigates the linguistic\r\nand educational needs of UCNSBC students through data collection, to provide methodological\r\nsuggestions for teaching Italian L2. After examining the profile of university\r\nItalian language students abroad, the study emphasizes the promotion and spread of the\r\nItalian language in Albania. The research is based on data collected through a questionnaire\r\nadministered to UCNSBC students, to identify their specific needs and motivations.\r\nBased on these findings, the study proposes teaching activities designed to enhance the\r\ninstruction of Italian L2 abroad.
