Libri alle Grazie: il problema della ricostruzione della biblioteca

Only few sources for the history of the library of Santa Maria delle Grazie\r\nin the XV century survive: a medieval inventory, which could give a picture\r\nof the manuscripts and books kept there, is lacking. Anyway, some marginal notes\r\nof the manuscripts allow to identify few volumes belonging to Santa Maria\r\ndelle Grazie. The situation of the library of Santa Maria delle Grazie can be\r\ncompared to Sant’Eustorgio’s one, even if the last preserves an inventory of the\r\nlate XVth century. Few charters mention some generous donors of the library of\r\nSanta Maria delle Grazie, such as the humanist Giorgio Valagussa of Brescia\r\nand Battistina da Camogli, Pier Candido Decembrio’s widow, who ordered to\r\nlet in inheritance to the Dominican convent the books which preserved the works\r\nwritten by her husband.
