Abstract
Sports high schools are a mature and consolidated reality of the Italian
school system. Therefore, at this juncture, it is possible to analyze problems
and to dissolve as soon as possible the most important educational-didactic
nodes, in order to favour their greater visibility and encourage students’
choice. The link between sports high school, sport and education also allows
a reflection on the causes that determine the high rate of early voluntary
abandonment of sports activities of new generations, after their enthusiastic
initial adhesions. Sport, in fact, still finds great difficulty to be considered
a cultural object able to contribute to the education*.
